The German Alpine Road – a name familiar to anyone who loves driving. At World of Driving, we go one step further by extending and optimizing the route specifically for sports cars like the Porsche 911. At key points, we leave the official German Alpine Road to incorporate special route highlights for sporty drivers into the tour. This unique route has been created through years of experience in the area and thorough research. You’ll experience the classic sights of the German Alpine Road with additional highlights, extending our journey to nearly 800 km (plus about 400 km for arrival and departure), ensuring even more thrilling and longer driving enjoyment.
Explore each of the eight Porsche 911 generations along Germany's most famous holiday road. The original German Alpine Road runs for nearly 500 km on the west-east route in southern Bavaria, along the Austrian border, from Lake Constance to Lake Königsee. However, our route not only offers stunning views but also delivers exceptional driving pleasure, especially for those who love high revs, thanks to the winding and elevation-changing sections of the road.

Itinerary
Arrival by your own means to Dasing near Munich, Sunday, 28.09.2025 | 182 km, 1,732 meters of elevation
We will meet at 1:00 PM at the charming Oldtimer Resort in Dasing, where your dream cars, the breathtaking Porsche 911s, will already be waiting for you. You can safely park your own vehicle on the premises of the Oldtimer Resort.
After a small welcome snack and getting to know each other, you'll receive a briefing on the unique features of each 911 generation. Once you're familiar with your Porsche 911, we'll set off together towards Lindau.
Our destination is the beautifully located Boutique Hotel Helvetia. Here, vacation & cuisine, wellness & spa, and plenty of nature come together. Feel free to check in and relax in the spa area, or explore the surrounding area of Lindau and Lake Constance.
We'll meet for dinner at a nearby top-tier restaurant that caters specifically to car enthusiasts. You’ll be delighted by the atmosphere and culinary quality, while enjoying a magnificent view of Lake Constance and the surrounding mountains. Between courses, we’ll provide a briefing on the upcoming journey, a small (introductory) tour through your travel folder and technical equipment, and, of course, plenty of conversations and opportunities to get to know each other over a welcome drink.
Travel Day 1, Monday, 29.09.2025 | 252 km – 6,726 meters of elevation
After a hearty breakfast, you’ll start your day as we begin our journey eastward. The Allgäu region has much to offer, so we’ll take an extra loop through the winding mountain landscape to really warm up your prized car. Numerous driving sections are perfectly suited to provide you with a sporty driving experience. A detour into Austria will bring more exciting route highlights, where you can fully immerse yourself and test your driving dynamics to the fullest.
After a strengthening lunch, we’ll continue towards Forggensee, which we’ll circle before wrapping up the first day of driving with nearly 7,000 meters of elevation. You will be welcomed at the wonderful Hotel Rübezahl****. No wishes will be left unfulfilled – relax in the large spa area or take a short trip to the world-famous Neuschwanstein Castle, which is less than 2 kilometers from our hotel. The panoramic views of nature and the stunning mountain backdrop will allow you to reflect on the day in peace.
In the evening, you will be treated to a four-course menu, accompanied by wines selected by the sommelier. Spend a relaxing evening with good company before we set off for the next stage of the journey the following morning.
Travel Day 2, Tuesday, 30.09.2025 | 269 km – 6,421 meters of elevation
After a morning boost, we continue on to the next adventure. We head south along the beautiful shores of Plansee in Austria, then onto the panoramic road north of Kreuzjöchl. The following valleys, with their impressive natural landscapes, offer plenty of straight stretches, giving you the chance to press the gas pedal and really let loose. Our next stop is the Hohenpeißenberg – a popular hotspot for car enthusiasts. Regular car meetings are held here due to the fantastic panoramic views and the exciting drive up.
Enjoy the pre-Alpine region with its diverse roads and the many lakes in the area, such as Staffelsee. Shortly after, we reach the Kesselberg. At over 800 meters, it offers many winding sections, making it particularly suited for sports cars. Afterward, we pass the western shore of Walchensee and continue to Sylvensteinspeicher.
Our next destination is Bad Tölz, where the Hotel Bergeblick awaits in a prime location. Surrounded by this unique panoramic view and with plenty to discuss from the day's experiences, we’ll enjoy a relaxed evening.
Travel Day 3, Wednesday, 01.10.2025 | 273 km – 7,182 meters of elevation
We bid farewell to the beautiful Hotel Bergeblick and begin our final driving day, which will take us through the winding paradise of Sudelfeld, leading us to the famous and notorious Tatzelwurm. Next, we’ll journey through the stunning, yet equally winding, Chiemgau region, whose landscape was shaped over 15,000 years ago by the forces of the Ice Age — as if nature itself had sportscar tours in mind. For driving enthusiasts, this stretch is a true dream. After a picturesque section of the German Alpine Road, we’ll complete the final lap of our journey on the Roßfeld Panoramic Road in the Berchtesgaden region, famous for its exceptional combination of curves. Here, driving pleasure and scenic beauty meet, offering you countless unforgettable moments.
In the late afternoon, we reach our final dream accommodation, the Alpine Hideaway & Spa Klosterhof — a beautiful resort in Bayrisch Gmünd. Set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop, the wellness landscape invites you to relax and unwind. Our final evening will be spent together enjoying a fantastic dinner at the hotel’s in-house restaurant. With a drink or two in hand, we’ll wrap up the evening in a cozy and convivial atmosphere.
Return Journey, Thursday, 02.10.2025 | 215km – 2,238m elevation gain + Own journey home
After nearly 1000 kilometers and over 22,000 meters of elevation across all Porsche 911 generations, we enjoy a final, shared breakfast and reflect on the impressions of the past days: stunning landscapes, the most beautiful lakes, countless curves, luxury, relaxation, and indulgence in our hotels—all shared with a group of car enthusiasts. Could there be anything more beautiful?
We check out together and leisurely drive back to the Oldtimer Resort in Dasing for the "car exchange."
